IT University Innopolis, Kazan, Russia, is seeking highly qualified
faculty members for Department chair position at the Department of
Computer Science. This is a career-oriented, renewable appointment.
Outstanding applicants with strong background in computer science and
information security systems are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities:
- Teach introductory or upper level courses at a reduced load, develop
and implement departmental goals, coordinate and evaluate the
academic performance of faculty members, mentor junior faculty,
oversee recruitment efforts, manage the department budget,
participate in University governance, and ensure compliance with
University policies and procedures.
- Attract significant research funding.
- Responsible for the development, relevance, and quality of IT
courses.
- Conduct research at Innopolis University in the field of computer
science and engineering. Focus areas include but are not limited to
user interface and interaction, embedded and mobile computing, cloud
computing, big data analysis, information security and education
technology.
Requirements:
Essential
- PhD, preferably in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or
related field.
- Excellence in teaching software engineering courses.
- Publication record commensurate with experience.
- Experience of academic leadership, evidence of attracting
significant research funding as well as personal distinction in
scholarship and research.
- Preferable seasoned supervisory skills, with at least five years
successful experience.
- Candidates with various international backgrounds are encouraged to
apply.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills, including written and presentation
skills in English.
Desirable
- Ability to supervise graduate and PhD students.
- Experience of working in a team.
- Willingness to travel within Russia and overseas in order to
facilitate the research (tenure-track).
- Research background in Computer Science and related fields.
- Experience of collaboration with industry partners.

Innopolis and Carnegie Mellon University (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
US). Participation includes an extended residency period.
