Gretl offers the following data types:

- scalar holds a single numerical value
- series holds n numerical values, where n is the number of observations in the current
dataset
- matrix holds a rectangular array of numerical values, of any dimensions
- list holds the ID numbers of a set of series
- string holds an array of characters
- bundle holds a variable number of objects of various types

The “numerical values” mentioned above are all double-precision floating point numbers.
