Prospective students and recent graduates are welcome to apply for a M.Sc. and Ph.D. positions in Barcelona, Spain to join an international, interdisciplinary team involved in research and development in the field of numerical modeling in geophysics. Successful applicants will be offered a work contract or a grant, combining working in the project with education.
Applicants should hold a good honours degree in mathematics, physics, computer sciences or related areas. Experience in programming (C/C++, Matlab or similar) is a must. Familiarity with numerical methods, optimisation and parallel programming (MPI/OpenMP) is an advantage. Effective communication skills, time-management and ability to work in a team are also important.
